My daughter as an assistant!

This weekend was one of my favorite all time wedding shoots (out of hundreds) and it's because for the first time I had my daughter with me and because the bride and groom where some of the sweetest people I have met. When the bride asked me if I wanted one of my children to come and be able to partake in the days events my first thought was, could that work? Would they be able to stand 6 hours of me taking photos in the fast paced wedding world. Then I realized what a great opportunity this could be and my oldest daughter came to mind because she is always taking pictures and videos. I had some great bonding time and in the end I almost could not have done it without her as it down poured most of the day (my poor bride) and it was set up as an outdoor wedding - even the dance floor was out on the street of their amazing house venue. Kiaya not only held the umbrella and stayed inches away from me to help protect gear but the bride said, are you going to let her take pictures? Wow I didn't even think of that so of course I handed her a camera and she turned into an amazing little photographer! She captured very artistic details of the day and got some great people shots. She had a huge disadvantage as it was dark and I had the flash and better camera so I am beyond impressed with how she did. I may ask to bring her to my future weddings as I just loved having her! Thanks to my kind hearted bride for even giving us the chance to have such a special moment and awakening my daughter to a new passion. Namaste Caitlin & Joe!
